Ventura "Show us Your Rack" Contest of 2004.
We offered hundreds of our customers a chance to win a $100.00 Gift Certificate to the person with a Great Picture and a Great story. This was not a beauty contest, but one way for our customers to express how Ventura "Changed their Everyday Ride, Into an Adventure!"
All of our entries were scored based on General Information, Picture, and Story. The point system used was based on items we asked to see from the general terms and conditions, good clear images and well versed stories. It was hard to choose only one winner. . . In 500 Words or Less, tell us how Ventura has helped you "Change your Everyday Day Ride, into an Adventure!"
Last year the children were of an age that allowed for "Mom & Dad" to get away for a few days at a time. Of course the vehicle of choice was our motorcycle.
In the fall of 2003 a 'trial' run was done to make sure all was well. The children were good.... Dad was good.... Mom..?? Well, the Yamaha FZ1 proved to be the definite bike of choice, but the lack of luggage of some sort forced the use of a backpack. With Dad being the driver, the job of backpack wearer "fell" on Mom's shoulders! I could go into detail as to the agony that DAD felt from the backpack, but it is a family website. For the next riding season (2004) a new luggage system became a MUST for Mom.

The criteria were set out in great detail so as not to be disappointed. Capacity, flexibility, mounting, style, ease of use, durability and of course 'zero interference with Mom's enjoyment'. If Mom's not happy, no one's happy! Our search was as wide as the internet allowed. Motorcycle shows were attended, dealers within a 100 mile radius were visited and other bikers were canvassed. The candidates were narrowed down to a final 2. As crazy as it sounds a comparison list was made in Excel and both were judged against the criteria. Given the last 'criteria', cost was obviously not considered.
Without actually trying the product we ordered the Ventura Pack. Within a couple of weeks it arrived, long before the riding seasoned started here in Canada (chains don't work well on a bike; we had to wait it out!). The install was as instructed, quick and simple. The attaching of the pack to the rack is easier than swinging my leg over the bike.
Soon after, we embarked on a 2 day 650Km trip to test out the new equipment. Mom was happy, need I say more? Next we took off for 5 days, 1200Km. We were able to store enough in the pack for 5 days with no problem. Our route encompassed roads that were listed on Biker Roads of Ontario. Most of them were void of any straight sections; the FZ1 was amazing riding two up.

The Ventura Pack System was completely invisible to me the driver and Mom the passenger, as it should be. As it turned out, the Ventura system was not the most expensive, but by FAR the very best product choice. The Ventura Pack System has exceeded our expectations, therefore transforming our single day rides into multi day adventures.
Oh, in case I didn't mention it, everyone is happy ....Thanks, and "Good Job" Ventura.
